All Things New
(The Final Chapter of the Greatest Story Ever Told)
We’ve walked the whole road together now. The Creator spoke galaxies and called it “very good.” We grabbed the pen, chose the fruit and spoiled paradise. The Warrior-King dropped behind enemy lines as a baby, lived among us, died our death, rose, and handed us His Spirit and His mission.
And now the curtain is rising on the final act. Close your eyes for a second and try to imagine the scene John saw:
No longer will there be a curse upon anything. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be there. His servants will worship Him. They will see His face. His name will be written on their foreheads. There will be no more night—no need for lamps or sun— for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever. Revelation 22:3–5 NLT
Hard to fathom what that would even look like!
No more curse. No more tears. No more cancer wards, funeral homes, or lonely 3 a.m. spirals. No more racism, addiction, abuse, or anxiety. No more “what if I’m not enough?” No more hiding from God in the garden.
Instead:
We see His face…The same face that once lay against Mary’s chest in Bethlehem, now unveiled in blinding, heart-exploding glory.
His name is written on us…We belong. Forever. No more fear of rejection. We reign with Him…The image-bearers who once wrecked everything are now crowned and commissioned as co-rulers of a cosmos that never stops singing. And the voice from the throne, the same voice that once said “Let there be light,” now thunders as the end is upon us.
“Look, I am making everything new!” Revelation 21:5 NLT
Not new things; but things new! Everything the way it was supposed to be. Your worst chapter? Redeemed. Your deepest regret? Rewritten. Your flesh that betrayed you? Glorified. Your relationships that fractured? Restored beyond imagination. The earth that groans under pollution and war? Renewed, more breathtaking than Eden ever was.
The baby in the manger becomes the Lion on the throne.
The wounded heel becomes the crushing foot.
The “It is finished” on the cross becomes the “It is perfect” of the new creation.
And you are not just a spectator in the crowd.
You are invited to the wedding feast.
Your name is on the guest list.
Your seat is saved.
Your resurrection body is already being prepared.
So when the news cycle screams like The Fall is on repeat, when your own heart whispers that the old lie “God is holding out on you,” remember the final page: The King wins.
Love wins.
Every promise kept.
Every prophecy fulfilled.
Every small act of faithfulness you offered in the middle of the mess—He saw it, He treasured it, and He is weaving it into the final glory.
Until that day, we live as people who have read the last chapter. We fight from victory, not for it. We love extravagantly, forgive quickly, hope stubbornly—because we know how the Book ends. We know the story is almost over. And when the sky finally splits and the trumpet sounds, we will not be surprised. We will be ready. We will throw off everything that hinders, run into the arms that were scarred for us, look into the face we’ve longed for all our lives, and hear the words we were born to hear:
“Welcome home, good and faithful one.
Everything is new.
“Let there be…” is now “It is done.”
And in between these, the Author wrote Himself into the story so that you and I could live forever in the light of His face. He is bringing back paradise. He is restoring Eden. This is the tale we’ve fallen into.
This is the ending we were made for.
The best is yet to come.
Jesus the Author.
Jesus the Creator.
Jesus the Promise.
Jesus the Warrior
Jesus the Restorer.
